The Furnace - Sweet Nothing: A Manifesto

Written from "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" by The Velvet Underground, Sweet Nothing is the first pamphlet to outline the tenets of a cult by the same name. This reading took place as part of The Furnace, a quarterly reading series showcasing one prose writer at a time. Originally published online through Tupelo Quarterly, this story is available as a zine in Elliott Bay Bookstore.

Da'daedal - Any Old Apocalypse

This short story, published by Psychopomp, was performed in March, 2014 at the Da'daedal Second Year Anniversary. Da'Daedal is an alternative platform for writers, musicians, and artists to showcase their work and to introduce different circles from the Seattle area and beyond.

Performed with chamber ensemble, field recordings, and video projections, and created in collaboration with composer Nat Evans. More Comfort explores the evolution of our relation to different screens in our lives as a hearth place, and the nature of our contemporary interactions and language.

The Casserole: Side Dish

The Casserole is an online reading series hosted by Chelsea Kurnick featuring poetry and prose writers. Writers hang out with Chelsea on Google Hangouts and the result is aired live on Youtube. Every day of April, in celebration of NaPoWriMo a writer will be featured on a Casserole Side Dish.  If you miss an episode, you can come back any time to watch the recordings.


The Bushwick Book Club

Writers from The Jack Straw Anthology 2013 performed at the Royal Room - Seattle, WA. November 9, 2013. Michelle Searle wrote an original song from my story, Tony's Theme, published in the 2013 Jack Straw Anthology, and Evan Flory Barnes accompanies her on bass during this performance.
